Who can become a member of AIE?
All music performers or executants can become AIE members if they have participated in any fixed performance (recording):
- Music recordings (phonograms) and/or audio visual recordings (videograms).
- TV shows, films, etc.
By law, all artists who have participated in any fixed performance shall receive remuneration for their rights of public communication and private copying. Becoming a member of AIE is free of charge. You can see below how to apply for AIE membership.
How to apply for AIE membership
To apply for AIE membership you need to fill in the online application form hosted in the AIE APPLICATION FORM section in this page.
After sending the online form, you will receive the necessary documentation via email so that you can formalize the incorporation through our electronic signature platform.

Signing and sending your application
Once the online registration form is completed and sent, you will receive three emails within a maximum period of five working days, with the application form for membership, the associate contract and the declaration form to sign through our electronic signature platform.
You will not have to send the documentation by post mail.
Application admission
If your application documents are correct, AIE will send you a receipt.
The Board of Directors of AIE, during its periodic meetings, approves or rejects all new applications for membership.
If your application is accepted, AIE will send you a communication to the address provided in your application form, containing:
- Your AIE member number.
- Access to the Virtual Office of members.
2024 Admission Calendar
According to AIE Statutes, the Board of Directors of AIE is the only body entitled to approve the admission of new affiliates, whose applications are previously studied and reviewed by the Admission Committee.
On this basis, membership applications complying to all affiliation requisites will be approved in accordance with the following dates:
- Applications received at AIE offices until January 9 will be approved by the end of February.
- Applications received at AIE offices until April 9 will be approved by the end of May.
- Applications received at AIE offices until July 2 will be approved by the end of September.
- Applications received at AIE offices until October 8 will be approved by the end of November.
After your admission as AIE affiliate, you will receive a communication informing you of your membership with all relevant documents attached.
Artists whose applications do not comply with all affiliation requisites will be contacted by AIE Membership Department for any possible corrections and new revisions by AIE Governing Bodies.
