April 2, 2025 \u2013 Amparo S\u00e1nchez<\/strong> has been selected as this year\u2019s touring artist for the exchange program between the Sociedad de Artistas AIE and the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA)<\/strong>, the renowned school founded by Sir Paul McCartney.<\/p>\n From June 1 to 7<\/strong>, Amparo S\u00e1nchez will offer masterclasses to a group of LIPA students, with whom she will rehearse and prepare a setlist to be performed at a concert in Liverpool and four more across Spain:<\/p>\n AMPARO S\u00c1NCHEZ + LIPA COMBO\u202fTOUR<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n June 2025<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n 01\/06- Liverpool-\u202fLIPA Canteen<\/span><\/b> Amparo S\u00e1nchez joins a distinguished list of previous AIE-LIPA exchange artists including Javier Ruibal, Coque Malla, V\u00edctor Coyote, Zahara, Juli\u00e1n Maeso, Maika Makovski, Jacobo Serra, Soledad V\u00e9lez, Tulsa, and Depedro.<\/p>\n Since 1996, LIPA has collaborated with AIE through its Music Studies Scholarships and AIEnRUTa-Artistas program.<\/p>\n This partnership is designed to promote professional musical training and to foster international artistic mobility and cultural exchange between Spanish performers and LIPA students.<\/strong> It represents a unique educational and artistic project within the European Union\u2019s performing arts scene. To date, 115 concerts have been held under the AIE-LIPA collaboration.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n About Amparo S\u00e1nchez<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In 2010, after her celebrated Amparanoia<\/strong> phase, Amparo<\/strong> S\u00e1nchez<\/strong> launched her solo career with the release of Tucson-Habana<\/em> \u2014 a musical and cultural journey recorded in two emblematic cities: Tucson, USA, and Havana, Cuba. The project began in 2007 during her collaboration with the band Calexico in Tucson\u2019s Wavelab Studios and continued two years later at Havana\u2019s EGREM Studios, where she worked with the legendary Omara Portuondo.<\/p>\n This landmark album, which blends Mediterranean flair with Cuban and Latin American sounds, was re-released in 2025 by Mamita Records in a special 15th Anniversary Edition with unreleased tracks \u2014 and will form a key part of the AIE-LIPA tour repertoire.<\/p>\n Her sound blends rumba, flamenco, Cuban son, and Tex-Mex, establishing Amparo<\/strong> S\u00e1nchez<\/strong> as a leading voice in global music.<\/p>\n Her latest album, Ritual Sonoro<\/em> (late 2024), reflects her most personal, intimate and spiritual side. As Amparo describes it: Her fifth solo project features Argentinian folk singer Raly Barrionuevo<\/strong> and Catalan artist Willy Fuego<\/strong>. In an acoustic format, the trio explores her repertoire in son, bolero, chacarera, Tex-Mex, and reggae styles. The nine tracks were recorded in Lucerne (Switzerland) in April 2024 and later mixed and mastered by Kaki Arkarazo<\/strong> at Garate Studios (Donosti).<\/p>\n Songs from Tucson-Habana<\/em>, Ritual Sonoro<\/em>, and her broader discography \u2014 performed by a large ensemble \u2014 will serve as the foundation for the 2025 AIE-LIPA Tour<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n LIPA<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA)<\/strong> is a higher education institution founded in 1995 by Paul McCartney in the building of his former school, also attended by George Harrison. The adjacent building, acquired in 2016, was once home to the art school where John Lennon studied.<\/p>\n LIPA offers degree programs in acting, dance, performance design, community arts, arts management, and popular music<\/strong>.
