Madrid, April 29 \u2014<\/strong> Once again, AIE has supported the Platino Awards<\/strong>, which celebrate the best in Ibero-American audiovisual productions, emphasizing the vital role of music as one of the key elements in shaping a work\u2019s narrative identity.<\/p>\n The gala, hosted by actors Aislinn Derbez and Asier Etxeand\u00eda<\/strong>, featured emotional musical moments<\/strong>, such as a live performance by Spanish artist Pablo Albor\u00e1n<\/strong> of his song Clickbait<\/em><\/strong>, marking a contemporary and refreshing turn in his career. Also taking the stage was Prince Royce<\/strong>, who reimagined classic English-language hits like How Deep Is Your Love<\/em>, Can\u2019t Help Falling In Love<\/em>, and Dancing In The Moonlight<\/em>, further cementing his title as the king of bachata. <\/span><\/p>\n These performances were joined by stunning numbers including an opening act by the Spanish Ballet of<\/strong>\u00a0Madrid<\/strong> and a live rendition of Castillos en el aire<\/em><\/strong> by Asier Etxeand\u00eda and the Gospel Factory choir<\/strong>, which accompanied award recipients as they ascended the stage throughout the ceremony.<\/p>\n Composer Alberto Iglesias<\/strong> took home the award for Best Original Score<\/strong> for La habitaci\u00f3n de al lado<\/em><\/strong>, the latest film by Pedro Almod\u00f3var.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Bridging Ibero-American Countries<\/strong><\/p>\n One of the most rousing ovations of the night followed the presentation of the Honorary Platino Award<\/strong> to actress Eva Longoria<\/strong>, delivered by Enrique Cerezo, president of EGEDA and the Platino Awards.<\/p>\n Ainda Estou Aqui<\/em><\/strong> became the first Brazilian production to win Best Ibero-American Fiction Film<\/strong> and Best Director<\/strong>, also securing Best Actress<\/strong> for Fernanda Torres. Another standout of the evening was the series Cien a\u00f1os de soledad<\/em><\/strong>, which won Best Miniseries or TV Series<\/strong>, Best Actor in a Miniseries or TV Series<\/strong>, and Best Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or TV Series<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The strong cultural ties across Ibero-America were symbolized in the official handover of hosting duties: starting in 2024 through 2027, Madrid and Xcaret (Riviera Maya) will alternate as Platino venues. This unprecedented agreement highlights the unity in diversity among the 23 participating countries. On stage, this was underscored by Quirino Ordaz (Mexico\u2019s Ambassador to Spain), Isabel D\u00edaz Ayuso (President of the Community of Madrid), and Marcos Constandse (Vice President of Finance and Administration at Grupo Xcaret), all of whom emphasized the awards’ role in strengthening cultural bonds.<\/p>\n Once again, the Platino Awards underscored the excellence of Ibero-American cinema and television.
