AIE presents Kordat, the Music Data Space, at Primavera Pro ’25

A pioneering initiative in the sector aimed at promoting collaboration among stakeholders

Barcelona, June 4, 2025 – Sergio Ramos, Director of Digital Transformation and Innovation at AIE, presented Kordat at Primavera Pro — a project that promotes the creation of the Music Data Space, with the ambition of becoming a technological benchmark for the music sector in Spain.

During the workshop titled Common Data Space: An opportunity for the music ecosystem, a necessity for the artist, Ramos explained that “a data space is a cloud-based service that regulates the use or exchange of data between organizations, with the key feature that the data does not need to reside in a shared location,” emphasizing that “data doesn’t cross the ‘boundary’ of an organization unless there is a prior agreement in place.”

He added, “the music industry is currently made up of many different players, each holding valuable data. If that information were catalogued, organized, and accessible, it would mark a huge step forward, greatly increasing the potential for collaboration between organizations. That’s the idea behind the data space we’re introducing today, under the name Kordat.”

The ultimate goal of the project is “to establish a model that enables the data space to become a sector-wide platform where information can flow freely between all stakeholders involved in the music industry,” Ramos told attendees.

Kordat, the Music Data Space, is a strategic initiative led by AIE, supported by the NextGenerationEU funds and the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Civil Service. It aims to create a secure, collaborative environment where all the information generated by the music industry can be centralized and leveraged.
