We say goodbye to a great man — a musician, conductor, soul friend, and true messenger of music. He shared his talent across the world, with a unique and exceptional ability to teach and make anyone sing beautifully. He spent forty years in Moscow, where he was respected and revered, and later returned to Spain to share his knowledge, talent, excellence, and deep sense of friendship.

A brilliant conductor and specialist in children’s voices, he led the National Choir of Spain, the Choir of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, and the El Escorial Boys’ Choir, among others. A few years ago, he returned to Moscow, where he continued his work and, ultimately, passed away. His unwavering discipline and musical excellence made him a true icon — a lasting reference in the world of choral music.

He was a member of AIE’s Board of Directors, and we remember him with great affection. Our deepest condolences go out to his daughters, Anita, Miren, and Irina — whom I hold dear — and to his entire family. May he rest in peace.

Luis Cobos, friend of José de Felipe and President of AIE.
